The main residence of the Scottish Kings and Queens since the 15th century, the Holyroodhouse Palace is today the home of Queen Elizabeth II when she spends one week in Edinburgh at the beginning of each summer. The place is also a main landmark for the tourists and is open throughout the year except that one week when the Queen is using it to carry out some official ceremonies. In the Holyrood Palace have been founded a seal matrix used as a wax steal and a special double coin. The Holyroodhouse Palace is positioned in the central zone of the city and is thus easily accessible from all hotel apartments Edinburgh offers for its guests, providing them comforts and various amenities.
