The Charles Square in Prague, or as it is locally known Karlovo namesti is a beautiful city square, positioned in the New Town of the Czech capital. Being among the largest squares on the globe, Charles Square was founded by Charles IV in year 1348 to serve as the main square of the New Town. The place was known as the Cattle Market and later was named after its founder in year 1848. During the 1860?s a great deal of the square was transformed into a park. Today the Charles Square is being one of the main transport hubs of Prague and is covered by a metro station, many tram lines and busy roads to all directions.
