Apartments Near Spanish Steps
Among the symbols of Rome could be placed the Spanish Steps, which is the widest and also the longest staircase in Europe. It is helping the tourists climb the steep slope that is set between Piazza di Spagna at the base and Trinita dei Monti Piazza with the church bearing the same name at the top. The stairway features 138 steps and it was constructed with the help of the French diplomat Gueffier who organized the connection between the Bourbon Spanish Embassy and the Holy See to be found at the Palazzo Monaldeschi. The Spanish Steps are especially charming in the evening, when groups of young people are spending their time sitting on the steps, talking with friends, sipping beer and contemplating the small fountain where the steps start.
